Overview
ClinCon
2008 is designed to create an educational experience that will
help EMS Personnel provide the highest quality prehospital care to
their patients. The
time has come for practical, research based clinical
street medicine to be practiced by every prehospital
care provider.
Who Should Attend
Paramedics, EMT's Firefighters, EMS/Fire Administrators, EMS
Medical Directors, EMS Educators, Emergency Physicians, Emergency

stroke.
13. Discuss the treatment options for stroke patients that are
outside the 3 hour
window.
14. Discuss the stroke rapid assessment process.
15. Discuss the effects that frequency of performance and patient
characteristics
have on successful endotracheal intubations.
16. Discuss the concept of quality as it relates to prehospital
care.
17. Discuss the “dirty little secrets” of EMS.
18. Discuss the simplistic method for reading X-rays in the critical
care setting.
19. Discuss the process for interpreting ABG’s and the value of this
skill in the
critical care setting.
20. Discus the process used to perform a critical care assessment.
21. Discuss the concept of “special operations” medics.
22. Discuss the basic concepts of street survival for EMS personnel.
23. Discuss the prehospital assessment and management for near
drowning
patients.
24. Discuss the prehospital assessment and management for abdominal
emergencies.
25. Explain the ten commandments of airway management for the
prehospital
setting.
26. Discuss the risks associated with being an EMS provider.
27. Discuss the concept of evidence-based triage.

It is the policy of the Florida Emergency Medicine
Foundation to give a refund only if the request is made in writing
to the conference registrar 2 (two) weeks prior to the conference.
For all cancellations an administrative fee of $75.00 will be
retained.
