This topic deals with the myths and realities relationships men and women have. We look at the physiological and psychological differences and the similarities. Statewide Patient Care Reporting Systems: The Delaware Approach

On January 1, 2000, Delaware began its statewide patient care reporting system and as of January 10, 2002 over 63,000 patient care reports (PCR) have been collected in the EMS Data Information Network (EDIN). Utilizing a lessons learn approach this presentation will provide a tour of Delaware's EDIN and offer a benchmarking opportunity with regard to how system problems and issues were addressed.

Is there room for Ethics in EMS?

This session will examine 4 moral principles and 3 rules derived from those principles that make up the foundation ethical framework for the profession of medicine and will apply them to real world situations in the business of EMS.

All activities and scenarios included will reflect essential fire service/EMS situations that typically occur and prove to be difficult for entry level supervisors to handle.

Introduction to Programming for Palm OS and Windows CE

This workshop will provide the attendee with a basic knowledge on how to get started writing applications for the Palm or Pocket PC.

Part One - will provide an overview of the tools available for programming the Palm and Pocket PC devices will be presented. We will examine forms-based database development tools and Integrated Development Environments (IDE) for both platforms.

Part Two - will explain the development process and how to choose the right development tool for your project. The objects (forms, controls) that make an application will be explained. We will look at how to set the properties for these objects and create some basic code to respond to different events.

Part Three - you will use these tools to develop an application. The instructor will demonstrate how to easily create a database application using little code and then how to create an application by writing some basic code to respond to the user's input.
